Alison Kelly Soprano

Alison Kelly Ms. Kelly is the co-founder of Folks Operetta, which is in its 13th season and the founder of Broad Minded, an all-female cabaret group which performs in Chicago and the surrounding area. Alison performed the lead role of Christine Daaé for two years in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera in Hamburg, Germany, where she was directed by Cameron Mackintosh. She has performed leading roles in over 80 musicals, operettas and operas both nationally and internationally. With Folks Operetta, Ms. Kelly has performed in world, American and Chicago premieres of 17 operettas and numerous concerts. Other local credits include roles with Drury Lane Oakbrook, Light Opera Works and Circle Theatre. Radio broadcasts include two concert performances on Chicago’s WFMT radio station as well ZDF Television in Germany. She can also be heard on the critically-acclaimed recording of The Rose of Stambul (Folks Operetta premier 2013) on the Naxos Label, and is a two time Grammy winning chorister with the Chicago Symphony Chorus. She has been a regular chorus member of the CSO since 2006. She lives in Oak Park with her husband, 2 children and a puppy. and
